Have you seen those videos of children finding out they’re being adopted? I always seem to watch them when I’m cutting onions. Ha! They get me. It’s just so sweet watching a child realize that they have a forever family. Heart-wrenching…in a good way.

I watched one where the boy unwraps a Christmas present that asked him if he wanted to be adopted. He chokes up and says “yes.” I had tears in my eyes and thought how much everyone loves these adoption videos. It was then that I remembered some verses in the book of Luke.

I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

Luke 15:7 (NKJV)

As great as our joy is when a child gains a forever family, how much greater the rejoicing in heaven of the angels and saints when a sinner believes in the Lord Jesus and finds a place in the forever family of God.

Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
