Beans and Seeds

I’m the designated coffee-getter at the office. I am happy to do it. It’s usually a nice break on a gloomy Friday or so. I get my co-workers’ orders and off I go.

The one drawback to this plan is that I don’t drink coffee. I don’t like coffee, I don’t understand coffee. So, I write down what they tell me they want and I take that to the café and hope what they told me is an actual drink. The first few times I went, I had a bit of fear that the barista wouldn’t know what kind of drink I was asking for and I wouldn’t know how to answer. Thankfully my co-workers do know what they’re talking about, and I trust them.

When it comes to evangelism, we go and share the gospel …even though we may feel daunted by all the doctrine and theology we may not know. What if there are questions we cannot answer? Ever feel as unprepared to share the gospel as I am trying to tell the barista at the café what kind of drinks my co-workers want? Yeah, me too.

However, we go in obedience and sew the seeds of the good news. We trust the message, just as we trust the Giver.
